Operations Manager

Moniker’s corporate travel and events business is expanding, and we are looking to hire talented and passionate people to support the team during our growth. The Operations Manager role will be a part of the Operations team, and oversee the Trip Planning Team in managing the day-to-day business and client programs. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in helping us build and service our roster of clients in planning and executing Corporate Incentive Trips, Retreats, & Meetings both in Canada and abroad.

All successful applicants will be expected to familiarize themselves with all destinations, properties, and suppliers where we operate our programs both in Canada and internationally. They will learn Moniker’s planning process, our approach to corporate travel and events, and what exceptional client service involves. Following this, they will master the handling of large amounts of detail required to plan and operate trips and events in order to ensure our programs meet with the high standards of excellence our clients expect from us.

  1. Tell us about a time when you spearheaded an initiated or volunteered to lead a project in a previous organization. What drove you to take on that extra responsibility?
  2. Put together a budget estimate for planning a 2-night retreat to Muskoka for 50 people ($1,500/pp) coming from Toronto. Include all relevant line items and expenses you deem necessary to portray as accurate a final cost to a client for their approval.
  3. A remote based client with employees coming from New York, London and Dubai has approached us with a briefing to help plan their annual strategy meeting. Put together a high-level summary of the questions you would ask the client in the preliminary stages to begin planning this program.
  4. Tell us about a past large-scale project or event that you were involved in and/or managed. How did you divide up the tasks involved and delegate responsibilities amongst the team? How did you keep everyone motivated and on-track?
  5. Describe a time when you had to undergo a major shift in your personal or professional life. What were the strategies you utilized to cope and how did you adapt to this change in direction.
