Custom Escape Room

Step inside this custom made “Escape Room”, as we set the scene for an unforgettable experience.  We start by setting the stage with the premise of a suspected villain was spotted checking out from the hotel that morning, leaving clues and a trail each team will have to solve in order to figure out his motives and ultimately crack the in-room safe to win.

Using a series of elaborate props, games, puzzles, and well thought out challenges - this 1-2 hour experience really tests your problem solving and deductive reasoning abilities as you race against the clock to uncover the villains whereabouts before the other teams. We set up as many identically duplicated rooms as necessary (max 10 per Escape Room) using the spare rooms in the hotel, and utilizing the facilities all around the property (including diving into the pool to retrieve one clue!)

Put you puzzling-solving skills to the test with this exciting team building challenge. Your group will be split into teams and race to memorize and correctly solve riddles from the master board.

At the blow of a whistle, one team member will run to the Master Board and memorize the puzzle for 20 seconds before running back to their team's player board. With the help of their teammates, they will relay the puzzles and work together to put the correct answer in the associated game square before another member runs to the Master Board for 20 seconds. The first team to correctly solve all the puzzles wins!

Step outside and explore the surrounding towns and culture in this engaging “Amazing Race” style activity, which will have teams coordinating train schedules and enlisting the help of locals as they compete in the pursuit of taking home the trophy!

The group will be split into teams, and equipped with an iPad (or using their own smartphones) to navigate their way through the city. They will engage in a series of trivia questions, photo challenges, and culturally-themed “stations” that will have them interacting with locals and other travelers alike.

After this 3-5 hour activity, each team will be responsible for making their own way back to the hotel where our judges' panel will evaluate the submissions of each team - awarding extra points for “creative interpretations” and flat out laughable content. A great way to spend a day while immersing yourself in the local community and culture!

Murder Mystery Dinner

Suddenly the lights go out and you are startled by the sound of a gunshot. Light returns, and you see a dead man on the floor next to you! As you look around the room, you notice some very shady characters. One of them must be the murderer...but which one is it?

Tonight the group, dressed in costume, will meet for dinner in your castle's dining hall when suddenly things take a sordid turn. You will learn certain details of the crime through evidence, eavesdropping, and questioning of other characters at the table. Don't worry - there will also be a delicious meal served to assist in your investigate duties and deductive logic. Come dressed as your best Colonel Mustard, Professor Plum, or Mrs. Peacock and let's solve this mystery!

This dinner can also be a culmination to the activities, cryptic clues and hints that have trickled in through the last few days on retreat.

Cardboard Boat Building Challenge

All aboard! While it may look easy at first, don't let this challenge fool you - building a floating cardboard boat is no small feat. Split into teams, your group will use a set of allotted materials to build boats out of sheets of cardboard.

Not all teams will have the same materials, so trading and bartering (and sometimes, begging!!) is critical for success. When time is up, teams will hit the water with their boats to see whose can go the distance. Bonus points will be award to various categories like "most creative design" and "best cheer".

Do you have what it takes to be a Beach Warrior? Are you ready to run, jump, crawl and climb your way to victory? A game of Beach Olympics will not only be a test of athleticism, but of team work and spirit. A healthy mixture of passive and more active games will allow all participants to contribute to their team's overall performance. Choose from any of the following and more:

Sandcastle Building Contest: A classic, each team is provided a bucket, a shovel and a theme. Before the timer hits zero, teams are challenged to build their most impressive sandcastle. They will then be judged by a panel based on the creativity, and presentation of their sandcastle.

Giant Ring Toss: Using hula hoops as rings, teams must compete to wrap the most hula hoops around various poles scattered 20+ feet away from the tosser by the end of the designated time.

Blind Obstacle Course: All team members are blindfolded, except for one person who serves as the “visual guide”. The visual guide must lead their teammates through a series of obstacles by giving verbal instructionsThe first team to have all their members cross the finish lines wins.

Volleyball:
Enjoy a classic game of beach volleyball, or switch things up with four-way vollyball. Four-way volleyball (also known as: Crossnet), combined traditional volleyball and four square rules for a fast-paced challenge. Games go quickly with first to 11 points, winner by 2.

Water Balloon Blaster:
Armed with a giant sling shot, teams must launch water balloons to their other team members 30+ feet away. The team members at a distance will have buckets on their heads, with which they must catch as many water balloons as possible. The team with the most water balloons caught in the bucket at the end of the designated time wins.

Events are rotated to ensure groups are kept involved and eager to participate. May the best team win!

Roll up your sleeve and get ready for a little friendly competition! Try your hand at making local food as taught by professional chefs. At your chosen venue, participants will be welcomed with a glass of wine and a brief introduction by the master chef himself.

Your group will then be divided into small teams and led to their working stations armed with three basic ingredients and a pantry. Once the teams are ready to start, each will be introduced to their support chef who will be on hand to give basic advice regarding the preparation of the various dishes. They will then need to trade and barter to get all the necessary tools and ingredients to create an award-winning dish.

When all the teams are done their masterpieces, a jury will critique their work and announce a winner before everyone digs in for a delicious meal.

Team Pub Trivia

Stir up some office rivalry with Team Pub Trivia! Better than your average game of Trivial Pursuit, custom corporate trivia is great way for the team to learn more about the company, each other, and have fun doing it. A member of the Moniker team will work with you to create custom categories and trivia questions based on the business and members attending the retreat including:

General Knowledge: General corporate knowledge like sales goals, previous events, marketing plans and future milestones
Fun Facts: Fun facts, tidbits, and hidden talents about employees attending the retreat
Picture Challenge: Teams must guess which baby picture belongs to which attendee

From these, a branded quiz answer booklet will be put together to be used on-site by teams. The team with the most correct answers at the end of all rounds is the winner.

Inspired by the popular reality TV show, Team Survivor is a highly energetic outdoor group building activity. Teammates don’t vote each other off but rather work together to save their teammates and keep them on the "island". Challenges range from silly to intense and will require different skills along the way ensuring everyone gets an opportunity to shine.

To the flourishing backdrop of your destination on the spawling hotel grounds. The game begins with everyone being divided into tribes, selecting a team name and creating their flag. From there, tribes are tested and challenged with a series of physical and problem-solving challenges on land and on water. As tribes progress the challenge becomes more and more mentally demanding. Tribes need to work together like a well-oiled machine with everyone doing their part to reach their goals! In the end, the tribe with the highest score is the true “Survivor”.

Extreme Capture the Flag

In this extreme version of a childhood favourite, your group will be divided into teams with each member having a designated role and associated equipment and tools - general, medic, sniper, engineer, heavy weapon specialists. Teams will be sent off to their base camp to devise a strategy for 30 minutes before the onslaught (read: game) begins.  

Leveraging the full expanse of your hotel property, a few curveballs will be hidden about. Caches filled with surprises that could help teams get a slight advantage like calling in airdrops or strategically placed tripwires activating traps throughout the battlefield. May the best team win!

Word Scramble Challenge

Starting with a simple trivia, teams will begin to unearth their first clue. Following a series of word searches, teams will scramble around the property seeking out further words, clues, and letters in a bid to complete the puzzle.

Codenames: Players are divided into two teams and each side chooses a Spymaster. Teams must identify each other using codes without revealing an enemy agent. Furthermore, it's just as exciting to watch as is it to play!

Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The team must adventure through 19th century London and identify clues that will solve a case given to them by Sherlock Holmes. Working together to decipher the evidence found will lead the team to the killer.

Articulate: The group splits into teams and each have thirty seconds to describe a word on a card without using the word. This sounds much easier than it is and the urgency of the game can create an exciting and fun atmosphere.

Mafia: A camp classic, everyone sits in a circle with their eye closed and are assigned the role of “Mafia” (1-3), “Detective” (1-3), or “Citizen” (Remaining players). The goal here is for the Detectives to correctly identify each Mafia member before they and all the citizens are killed off.

The Resistance: The group of up to 10 players are secretly divided into the resistance and spies. A bluffing game, the resistance must figure out who the spies are before the time runs out!

Indiana Jones Theme

In this Indian Jones themed amazing race, employees (or, “curators” for the purposes of the theme) will divided into teams representing famous museums from around the world (ie. The Smithsonian, Museo del Prado, Rijksmuseum, etc.). Their mission? Be the first to solve a series of puzzles and clues throughout the program to find the “Siamese Skull” - a sought-after historical artefact.

The theme will be introduced during a welcome reception through a custom-made briefing video. Working with a member of your company disguised as the head curator of The Smithsonian, the video will outline the history of this alleged “Siamese Skull” in your chosen destination, and the importance of finding it before the evil “Brotherhood” and other museums.

Teams will the compete in a series of challenges - ranging from cardboat boat racing to a portable escape room to a city-wide scavenger - in their quest to collect enough clues to lead them first to this hidden treasure. Beware! Curveballs, trivia, and top secret intel will be hidden around every corner, so keep your eyes and ears open at all times.

Italian Job Theme

A completely custom-built spin-off of the acclaimed movie The Italian Job will have your team driving around the quaint towns of Italy in pursuit of the perpetrators of an elaborate bank heist.

The group will have an iPad to guide them in teams of 2 cars (up to 8 players per team) as they race around trying to answer trivia, interrogate planted actors into revealing clues, and ultimately build their case to identify the robbers from a lineup of 12 suspects at the end of the day. The first puzzle will lead groups to a burnt out car on the side of the road, where they must search its interior for suspicious or identifying items. From there, team members will race to a barber shop where an alarmed barber will share clues of an individual's hair they cut, helping paint a clearer picture of the suspects. Other stops include _____, _____, and _____, eventually leading everyone back to the hotel for suspect interrogation and final identification.
